Nite of Spring – Four Dances for string sextet or string orchestra

Nite of Spring – Four Dances based on Lithuanian and Russian Folk Melodies is a chamber ballet in four movements. Originally composed for string sextet, the ballet was performed at multiple outdoor New York City venues during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in June, 2021. Featuring twelve musicians and dancers of New York City Ballet, this event was produced by violinist Derek Ratzenboeck and choreographed by Skyla Schreter with costume design by Lauren Carmen.

Nite of Spring – iHeartDance (NYC)

The music is based on Lithuanian and Russian folk melodies drawn from the same folk song collections used by Igor Stravinsky in his Rite of Spring. The specific folk song references found in each movement are noted in the score at the end of each of the four dances in this suite.
